Yokozuna Asashoryu retired after the recent Hatsu Basho, to the great sadness
of his many fans and the jubilation of his detractors. Foremost among the latter
is Makiko Uchidate, who recently retired from the Yokozuna Deliberation Council.
Mrs Uchidate must wish that she was as powerful as the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland.
Asashoryu may have retired but, for Mrs Uchidate, that will never be enough...
