At the recent Hatsu Basho, Ozeki Kakuryu gave an outstanding performance, his best yet as ozeki.
Following a loss on day one, he improved steadily throughout the basho, beating Yokozuna
Hakuho on the final day to reach a yusho play-off, which was swiftly won by the Yokozuna.
Let us hope that this is a preview of greater achievements to come for Kakuryu this year.
