Both Goeido and Yoshikaze performed above expectations at the recent Haru Basho and won tournament prizes.
Goeido had his strongest outing in two years with a score of 12-3 and may now be making an ozeki run.
Following a surprise 10-5 score at Maegashira 11 in January, Yoshikaze achieved an even more surprising
10-5 score at Maegashira 4. He will deservedly debut in the sanyaku ranks at the Natsu Basho in May.
What does the future hold for these two rikishi?
Will Goeido manage to fill an ozeki berth in the near future? 12 or 13 wins in May could seal it.
Can Yoshikaze make a decent fist of his first basho at komusubi? We shall have to wait and see.
