With his slight but athletic build and his towering fighting spirit, Ishiura had a brilliant
first outing in makuuchi division in November, with a ten bout winning streak from day
two. His lightning fast tachi-ai, with the slightest hint of a henka, was strongly
reminiscent of the tachi-ai of the lightest Yokozuna Harumafuji.
He can expect a large promotion on the next banzuke and a much more testing time against
the higher-ranked rikishi in January. He will get a chance to prove whether he is a bright
prospect or just a flash in the pan.
