Despite being among the shorter rikishi and therefore suffering from restricted reach compared to many of
their opponents, Terutsuyoshi and Sato, both from Hyogo prefecture, have had successful careers so far.
Sato has had a rapid rise up the divisions, winning over 70% of his bouts and being the champion in four
separate divisions. Following his juryo division win in the recent Kyushu Basho he will be making his
debut in makuuchi in January.
The talented but lightweight Terutsuyoshi won the makushita division championship in Kyushu and will be making
his juryo division debut in January, so that he also will be fighting with the big boys.
