Much has been expected of Kisenosato since his makuuchi debut at the tender age of 18. He has made slow
progress in makuuchi division, coming close to winning the yusho on a number of occasions and being
up for Yokozuna promotion several times.
In the past he has always fallen just short, but in the recent Hatsu Basho he managed to put it all together,
winning the yusho and gaining promotion to Yokozuna. Now he really has something to smile about.
