Sandanme Tsukedashi

Natives of neighbouring prefectures on the Sea of Japan, Ishibashi from Toyama Prefecture and Oyanagi from Niigata Prefecture started sumo
last March at the newly created rank of sandanme tsukedashi. Oyanagi made the faster start of the two and has fought for the last
two basho in juryo division, where Ishibashi will join him this March, becoming the first sekitori from Toyama since Kotogaume retired in 1997.
