Ozeki Baruto announced his retirement prior to the recent Aki Basho, after a distinguished career. He spent almost
10 years in Sumo, making an impressively fast rise through the ranks, but suffering recurring injuries.
The highlights of his career were a zensho yusho (championship win with no losses) in juryo division, three wins over
Yokozuna Hakuho and a single yusho in makuuchi division as ozeki followed by a challenge for the rank of Yokozuna.
His fans weren't ready for him to retire.
